Morning sickness is probably the worst parts of pregnancy. Reality is, it’s not morning sickness. Its just pregnancy nausea and vomiting, the term of morning sickness came about because most women happen to wake up feeling terrible and it eases out as the day goes on. This does not mean it only happens in the morning, it can strike at any given time of the day. For a lot of women this can last all day.

What are the causes? Your body is undergoing changes and as far as we know there really is no proven fact as to what causes nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.  Causes may be stress, estrogen, sensitive smell or human chorionic gonadotropin.

So how do you go about easing these symptoms?

1.  Freeze Gatorade ice cubes.  When your body can’t seem to keep anything down, you can suck on these to keep your body hydrated and consume electrolytes.

2.  Lemon is the remedy to many things.  For nausea you can suck on half a lemon with just a pinch of salt or add a few slices of lemon in your water. The citrus in a lemon will calm the symptoms.

3.  Peppermint candies, these puppies have seemed to work for many women.  Wouldn’t hurt to give them a whirl.Peanut butter apples slices, or apple slices with a pinch of salt.

4.  Ginger!  Wether it be picked ginger like you would eat a sushi bar or ginger tea.  Ginger root is a miracle worker when it comes to nausea.
